My Next Big Thing

Hi! Welcome! Today is a treat! This is our very first blog promo for our book, Under The Australian Sky, book 1 of the Love Across Time series, contracted to MLR Press and due to be released in January 2013.

So really our, The Next Big Thing, is our first big thing! :D We were tagged in Jen's www.authorhenwright.wordpress.com/ Next Big Thing blog.

I hadn't heard of the Next Big Thing until recently and I jumped at the chance to be included. So I have to answer 10 questions about our book, our Next Big Thing, then I need to tag 5 other authors who will continue the chain next week.

So without further ado...

What is the title of your book?

Under The Australian Sky, book 1 of the Love Across Time series

How did you come by this idea?

Jordan: Now, are you sure you really want to try and look into my chaotic mind and try to figure out how I come up with a story. Honestly the way I come up with stories would leave you scratching your head. (Yes, believe me it leaves me scratching my head and saying WTF? From time to time!---Angel)

I was talking with my partner (waves Hi from Angel) about ideas with a holiday theme figuring everyone would come up with the typical Christmas or Halloween stories and believe me when I say you don't even want to know the rejected ideas. (No you don’t! They cause me shudders just remembering them! – Angel)

The open call for an Australia Days submission came up with MLR Press and after much debate between modern and western stories, we decided to have a cupid repair lost love. At the time it wasn't intended to be a series but Christian just doesn't seem to be happy with only getting one book. (We just can’t seem to write a one book story. They always morph into series! LOL – Angel)

What genre does your book fall under?

MM Time Travel Romance

Which actors would you choose to play your characters if it were a movie?

Christian: Cesare Season 2 (in leather) (The Borgias - Francois Arnaud)
Jack: Ian Somerholden (with long hair)
Ethan: We're not 100% certain, (we'll know him when we see him), but I keep imagining Tom Burlinson from Man From Snowy River movie.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

What would you do if you suddenly found yourself transported back in time?

Will your book be self-published or traditional?

Traditional, by MLR Press

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Not long, about 3 weeks I think...

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Jordan: I like to think we are unique in ourselves. If I had to choose a book to compare it to though I would have to say that it would be the Viking time Travel romance novels by Sandra Hill. I also enjoyed This Time For Keeps by Kathleen Kane. Both authors probably influenced me the most in writing Under The Australian Sky.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

We wanted to do a spin on time travel and cupid, plus see if we could incorporate real life disasters into Happily Ever After stories.

What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

Sex, Sex, and more Sex? Alright, Jack is the tall, dark and handsome love 'em and leave 'em playboy that you want to have meet his match.

Ethan is shy and quiet, the rugged cowboy that everyone falls for.

I think everyone wonders about their true love and how far we would go to find that one special person. Throw in a bit of humor, a lot of sex and you have Under The Australian Sky.
